Raven is an empath, not a telepath. She reads emotions, not thoughts. If she had the power to erase someone’s mind, Deathstroke would be spending his days under the belief that he’s a six year old girl. She’d have Starfire braid his hair.

The idea of her using the phrase is for active powers to perform physical manifestations of her powers, ideally something requiring a tap of energy reserves. But Raven has several ive powers that don’t require the words.
On top of that, we still don’t have any mental defenses against Raven’s telepathy.
There’s no question that Twilight’s magical feats are amazing. Before she was an Alicorn, she (under a magical enhancement but still showing her sheer potential) vaporized a stone wall with a heavy power beam. Even Raven can’t do that. Twilight’s conjuration and telekinesis is also significantly greater to my knowledge.
But what’s stopping Raven from mind-rape attacks ala Professor X? Telepathy doesn’t exist on any great level in Equestria, neither in the comics of which I’ve read several.
It’s one of the main reasons Shadow the Hedgehog lost to Mewtwo.
What is Twilight going to do when Raven imposes or erases Twilight’s emotions, memories, shows her a dark future of doom, capture or remove her soul, or control her vision, senses, and dreams?
As for Death Battle, they use these characters at their maximum potential across all different canons. Yes, they’ll draw influence for Raven from the cartoons, the comics, and even the video-games. They’ll also do the same for Twilight Sparkle. Now I haven’t read the IDW MLP comics, from what I hear some of Twilight’s feats are..well, absurd.
That’s definitely an important consideration. Done properly, the Twilight they use for this will likely be an amalgam of all her appearances and abilities to date. And considering they referenced the comics in the Pinkie Pie one, I’d be surprised if they didn’t do that here as well.
And yes, comic Twilight has some pretty crazy magic at her disposal. Like the spell that let her travel into the minds of other ponies.

You don’t think Twilight wouldn’t take note that Raven says “Azerath, Metrion, Zinthos” for all her heavy attacks? As for Death Battle, they use these characters at their maximum potential across all different canons. Yes, they’ll draw influence for Raven from the cartoons, the comics, and even the video-games. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a casual MLP fan at best and I grew up reading comic books; I’m old enough to when “The Death of Superman” first hit shelves. I think it go either way, and I won’t lose any sleep over either outcome. All I’m saying is that it’s not as one-sided a fight as some are saying.

that was created for Raven, showing off her abilities and feats to the best of their abilities. Probably should look through it before ing any judgement for those who don’t know her very well or very much of the comics.

Getting back to Raven, there’s also the fact that she has more exploitable weaknesses that her fans (of which I’m one) are willing to it. The obvious one is, as I mentioned, that her powers require chanting and incantation for her to actually use them. Robin, disguised as Red X, rendered her completely powerless by pretty much taping her mouth shut. All Twilight needs is one spell to make Raven’s mouth disappear and she’s done for.
That’s true, but Death Battle doesn’t factor in a pre-battle prep or available research/information. That means Twilight Sparkle won’t know that unless she figures it out through the battle.
There’s also a lot more to Raven if you look in to the comics, but I don’t know if Death Battle will use them or not (probably will).
I still feel like Pinkie actually technically won hers. Because Deadpool is all about killing people, and Pinkie is all about making friends, and Pinkie was the only one who ended the fight by doing what she is best at.
Just my own personal opinion.
In my opinion, Deadpool won that battle. He made a new friend, and he got cake. =P

Also, for a harbinger of the apocalypse and spawn of basically Satan, Raven’s very insecure and kind of thin-skinned. Terra was able to defeat her by taunting her and making her lose control of her emotions, thus losing control of her powers. And when that happens, they’re every bit as dangerous to her as they are to her opponents.
Again, not saying Twilight takes this. Just that it’s not as one-sided as it appears.

RD technically won even if she didn’t kill Starscream, Pinkie’s was a season ending and that’s why the made the joke battle, this is the second battle in the season, I wish that this would end in no deaths but is not likely. Besides I bet this battle was made to silence the people that say that DB is biased towards MLP.
The last two death battles concerning ponies ended with no deaths, at the very least the teen titans go Raven has shown that she’s a fan of my little pony, and Twilight Sparkle is the Princess of friendship

Plus her powers are dependent on her speech, and while she’s certainly smart she’s not exactly a great strategist. Not saying that Twilight takes it, I’m just saying don’t count her out. Stranger things have happened in Death Battle, like Doomsday defeating the Hulk when he’s lost to characters nowhere near Hulk’s level.
I have to agree with you. As much as I see people saying Raven is the sure victor, I really feel they’re a lot more evenly matched then people are giving her credit for. I mean, we don’t even know which incarnation of Raven they’re going to use. The most recent (New 52) version differs from her original incarnation, and also from her (more well known) animated version as well. We can’t even be sure what powers she’ll be bringing in, since some of them have only ever appeared once, a fair number of them only become accessible if she’s gone evil or her father, Trigon, is influencing her, and a few are not even within her conscious control.
But even taking some of her most common powers and abilities, Twilight is far from outmatched. Raven’s Soul-Self/Darkness Manipulation skill is powerful, but can be disrupted by magic (which Twilight has in abundance). Raven also has teleport abilities (which Twilight also has), the ability to use travel time with chronokinesis (again, Twilight has done it), magic (not even a question), levitation and flight (Twilight has levitated at least once before, and frankly her wings alleviate any need for doing that), telekinesis (Twilight can of course manipulate objects magically), and astral projection (something Twilight has some experience with, if her times viewing Celestia’s past in ghost form is any indication). And let’s not forget Twilight has used force fields, magic beam attacks, dark magic (at least once), transformation spells, gravity spells, and once burst into flame.
So yeah… I’m not saying Twilight will win, but she really ought to be able to put up a good fight.

I have strong doubts about that screwattack fans are not known for their outburst… maybe those on youtube that only watch deathbattle, but then we are at the level of youtube comments…
