I’ve seen it before that. I think them putting that scene in A Canterlot Wedding was possibly a little nod to the fans that liked SpikeBelle and/or Sparity. I mean, they did also ship tease RariPants and SoarinDash and those two were also popular ships in the fanbase at the time.

only time I ever seen spike interact with sweetie belle was “just for sidekicks” I base my ships on how many times the characters interact with eachother
