I take solace in the fact that we still know next to nothing about what G5 will be like. Adding to that, I think it’s still too soon to be talking about it.
S9 might be the end of the road, it might not. Everyone thought S7 would be it for the show, but that clearly wasn’t the case. And a year or two is a lot of time for decisions to be made and minds to change. Maybe if we all pitch in, we can make something like this happen. Hasbro IS dependent on us, to a degree. If we weren’t important to them, I doubt FiM would have made it beyond S3.
I think MLP:FiM is perfect the way it is, and doesn’t need to be changed or rebooted. I love the Mane 6, the Student 6, and everyone else just the way they are. If and when G5 comes, and if it is a hard reset, I likely won’t watch it. I don’t want to see them TeenTitansGo!-ing the show that means so much to me.

Same here. It’s just too soon to reboot the characters we’ve all come to know and love. If they had waited until at least 2025 for a cold reboot of this, I’d be less apprehensive about things.

They already did that in the comics.
How could I foget about the Pillars? That would make a great series especially finding out how they all came to meet one another.
At the moment, I mostly just hope that S9 isn’t the end. There’s still so much that this show has to offer!
Besides, there’s no rule that says they can’t run G4 and G5 simultaneously. That way if G5 bombs, they can always fall back to the tried and true!
And so long as we never forget our roots, this show will live on forever in our hearts.
