What a joke , what the fuck was the point of the premier then?
Well, it introduced the main villain for the entire season, established that he’ll be working with other notable FiM villains, showed how Twilight and her friends have developed and what they can do even without the physical elements to them, set up a potential B-plot involving the tree of harmony, suggested that Twilight is probably going to end the series as ruler of Equestria (with her friends) and set the stage for everything else that is yet to come.
Which is apparently practically nothing by the standards of some people.

I think at that point it just turns into a pointless running gag.
I think the premiere and this episode mattered.
Yeah, I think the questions should be directed towards this episode. Why just turn around and undo such a major event?
