Rest in peace, Koviry. You brought us all much joy, and you will be missed forever. I never learned what’s appropriate to say to give condolences in English, but as we’d say in my language, we’re sending strength and hugs to her friends and family.
There are so many unfair things I can’t come to grips with about Koviry’s death.
The thing bothering me most right now is that she poured out her love for nature through her art in a way that no other artist did. She’d go hiking to some bumfuck Ural mountaintop or field, and for the majority of us who’d never get to personally see it, she put it on the page so that for just a moment we could appreciate the view too. She had a talent for it, and I know it’s irrational to personify the indifference of nature, but it’s hard to accept that it didn’t love her back. Even more so, maybe I’d find some solace if the flood had happened while she was hiking, painting, or otherwise doing what she loved, instead of at home. I just hate that she’s not here with us any more and that this is how it happened.
Condolences to her friends, family, and especially her parents; I can’t imagine what they’re going through right now and I hope they know how loved their daughter is.
rest in peace, koviry. thank you for inspiring me and so many others. it’s hard for me to express, but i’ve logged in after such a long time to try to convey how i feel, and in hopes that it might reach you somehow.
your works are incredible and are beyond romantic. i think thomas moran would weep. a million beautiful, painterly meadows and all of their flowers for you.
Yeah, this is pretty much why it’s been bothering me since I found it. I can’t really wrap my head around it. It sucks.

Damn. That’s horrible.
she died.
There was a flood where she lived and she was swept away. Today she was found dead.
