Actually, I’ve seen some very poorly drawn pics with characters like Mario, and such that actually hardly have any downvotes. (One I saw had a score of 20, in fact.) So I don’t think people always hold other pics to the same standards they do the Sonic-related ones.
Still, people who say all Sonic pics are downvoted are false, because I’ve seen a few with alot of upvotes, as well. Though, usually only when they’re very VERY good.
And it generally doesn’t. Poorly drawn art, stupid image macros, Photoshopped collages and crossover shipping pictures get treated about as bad when Sonic is the subject as they do in any other case. Have you forgotten about MordeTwi?
The frame of reference is off just because so many of the Sonic pictures fall under that label.
