Yeah, they are very skilled at quadrupedal animation. My niece watches Martha Speaks and it is quite good for a cartoon made for small children.
Studio B/DHX’s skill doing quadruped characters on Martha probably helped them land the Pony job. Martha is smart and multi-layered so the talent behind it really shows there too.
After MLP was certainly in production they actually bit the hand mildly by spoofing it on Martha with a scene of “My Fluffy Puppy” to teach kids what the word “merchandise” means and just how much a kids show will try to hawk it (Martha got offered a local TV show and they were making suggestions about what it should be like, this bit was made all the funnier by a 9-year-old girl proposing the show concept should maximize toy and backpack sales.)
Lol, That shows pretty okay considering its for tots and what not. Bob the builder is better though, or at least it was before they turned it cgi… that re-tipped the balance.
