That’s not clear at all. “After midnight” means only that midnight has previously occurred. Thus, on its own, it has rather limited use as a reference time. “Don’t feed them between midnight and six AM” or something like that would be much more helpful.

Not saying that. It’s always after midnight because midnight is when it becomes the next day. The day starts at midnight, thus the whole rest of the day is technically after it.
Well, the “after midnight” rule would be clearly based on local time, most likely linked to the gremlin’s circadian rhythms, or possibly their sensitivity to light- or maybe the fact that the Earth’s magnetic field is weakest at that time. Saying ‘it’s always midnight somewhere.’ Is just being obtuse. :p
But yeah, the light thing. Maybe a hybrid pony/gremlin, then?

Also, she’s been in the sunlight with no ill effects.

I’m sure she can eat after midnight without problems, simply because there are few times of day when she isn’t ready to eat.
