@Dirty Bit
To be honest, I’m a little split about it. For the first Equestria Girls movie, I was entirely against it. This one, I figured it would be even worse. Surprisingly enough, though, it was better than I’d imagined. Here are the things I don’t like about it, compared to the things I like about it.
Didn’t like:
-Spike is still a dog. That pissed me off in the first movie and pisses me off now.
-Hit-and-miss songs that are not at all rock. (Could you imagine how awesome it would be if they did a hair metal song? Or a Green Day style punk song?)
-Lots of characters act OOC–well, not exactly, but their personalities are inflated by 100x to add conflict to the story that is altogether pointless and resolved in a matter of seconds.
-There are pointless subplots galore.
-As well as pointless cameos and cultural references (bringing back flashbacks to Disaster Movie)
-And that pointless romance that never goes anywhere.
-Oh yeah, and the deus-ex-machina ending that reminds me of the end of a Stephen King miniseries. Fuck that shit.
-And let’s not forget, there are even less ponies in this than the last one. Only five minutes worth? WTF?!
Liked:
-The villains are actually likeable, and not just three Sunset Shimmer clones. Infact, they remind me of the witches from Hocus Pocus.
-Vinyl Scratch’s cameo actually added something to the story, instead of being pointless.
-Maud Pie’s cameo, while it was pointless, did make sense seeing as how she does live at Pinkie’s house.
-The animation is improved for the scenes with the humans.
-Some of the songs, especially those of the Dazzlings, are good.
-And human Twilight as a scientist with glasses? All of my yes!
So pretty much, it was very hit and miss for me, in that when it missed, it REALLY missed, but when it hit, it REALLY hit. If that makes sense.
No comment, as a person who doesn’t read the comics and hence wouldn’t know what goes on there. ^^;

But so-so to huge extremes. Infact, I dare say that I want to see the Dazzlings appear again in the FIM universe!
