We’re on different sides of 3, aren’t we? I’m just saying, both have to survive, i.e. stay split. I’m seeing lot of moodiness about identity but things generally going fine.

Chances are it’ll probably make no difference. There will be drama. Included the possible love interest with Big Mac that interfered/get involved in the problem and a side-story about Celestia’s past during her solo leadership (after Luna was banished) that caused the separation to happen. Obviously there will be a villian that’s responsible making its return.
Oh, and to make that Level 3 Edge official, the Elements of Harmony have little to no use.

Probably around a 3, they can’t re-merge after all, plus IDW probably doesn’t want a bunch of complaining like what happened with “Reflections”.

I believe this calls for a demographic chart to illiterate how deep the story will go if IDW ever (which will never happen) use the Celestia and Cheerilee theory.
What level of edge will this theory latch itself onto?

If the one who knows keeps it a secret, at least from the other, and does not desire to merge with the other and be “whole” again, there’s no reason for them to come into conflict with each other.
But since stories tend to need conflict, I’d imagine someone with good intentions and bad judgement would find out and try to “fix” it.

I’m assuming Alicorns are made of all three tribes of ponies put together. Interesting theory, Cheerilee is Celestia’s Earth Pony half. So Celestia is probably at her 2/3 physical strength due to missing her Earth Pony magic.

Here’s a thought: What if one of them is aware, but the other isn’t? It’d likely be Celestia who’s aware ‘cause she seems a more natural fit for weird cosmic magic stuff… But wouldn’t it be great if Cheerilee knew and Celestia didn’t?

Not being aware that they’re both once whole and the same being. If IDW ever green lights this suggestion it’ll cause mass amount of headaches and fridge logic.
Just a thought, what if the writers at IDW went with the idea that Cheerilee and Celestia are actually separate beings, because reasons (insert cliché time paradox wormhole or whatever), and neither of them are aware of it?
Now, I wouldn’t MIND if they lampshaded the two of them having the same voice actress somehow (probably through a line from Pinkie or something), just as long as it wasn’t the only joke.
Just as long as it isn’t one of those cases where the entire joke is that they’ve never interacted before and they sound pretty similar and the joke goes on for a full minute (cough Family Guy cough)…
