This reminds me of a time years ago when I noted to my mother how weird it was that, after all of these years, the family dog was still afraid of the vacuum cleaner; surely, even with his simple intelligence, he should’ve figured out that it was not a monster and of no threat? My mother responded, “you were afraid of the vacuum cleaner until you were 5 and we could talk to you”.
Who else has to use earplugs or pieces of tissue paper in their ears to stand using one of those blasted contraptions… Effective yes, but that noise! noise! NOISE!
