Ooh, or even better, she actually did fall to her death. She just came back as a revenant to protect the only friends she’d ever had up to that point: the animals who comforted her in her final moments.
Makes no sense. She’s powerful and important, but she’s in common flight camp. And the other foals pick on her, while the only pony who does anything about it is the even younger foal Rainbow Dash.
I think more likely she was just a painfully shy shut-in whose parents forced her to go to flight camp against her wishes, and she’d never been to the ground because she’d never willingly been anywhere outside of her parents’ cloud house. Why should her parents fly her down to the ground when she’s unhappy even being outside the front door? Because she sure couldn’t have gone there herself.
FFS, why does every fan theory have to suggest that there is something special about a certain character’s life?
Maybe she just never had the chance to see the ground yet. And maybe the reason she is socially awkward is because she is physically weak and was bullied a lot when she was younger.
