Some of us actually enjoy this. There’s a reason filters exist. The idea is that you filter out what you don’t like, so you don’t have to see it, and we don’t have to listen to your whining.
Again, and maybe saying it sarcastically is confusing you so I’ll state it plainly, there is nothing inherently worthless about memes. They’re just as much a part of modern culture as any other piece of media.

The only reason we all know that quote is because it is an internet meme. This isn’t that hard to understand. In isolation, it’s just another line from a TV show on HBO that only a select number of people have seen. A far greater degree of exposure as an image macro is the primary reason that people like myself, who do not watch the show, are familiar with it.
Slapping old image-macro rubbish in a cartoon as some kind of wink to this internet-based fandom is like a corny Dad joke.

You know, pop cultural references in cartoons are questionable when they’re too overt. Internet memes on the other hand are just an automatic no. And don’t even bother to argue about it being a reference. Of course it is. It’s a reference to an old-ish meme that references Game of Thrones. It ain’t funny, and it ain’t clever.
