That… I’m sorry, but that is actually one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read. Families argue. Siblings argue especially. I don’t care how much of a Happy Family ^TM they are, it’s a thing that is going to happen. If it doesn’t, that’s really not an argument for ‘well-adjusted’. And arguments do not mean they hate each other. It’s going to happen, in even the most cohesive units. Especially over trivial things like forgetting wedding presents at home - when those are your sources of conflict, damn right you have a happy family.

I’d imagine Turner’s place (home or business, don’t matter) will be flooded with clocks… So, that’ll probably be where they put a miniature blue phone booth in the corner of the room… Since why would they have police boxes in Trottingham and subsequently miniature police box figurines if cops don’t exist? XD

Hmm. What do you ponies think, does the revelation that Griffonstone is a dump already count as “fanon destroyed”? What with all the stories of powerful and aggressive Griffon nations just at Equestria’s borders…

Yeah, I can agree with that. But sometimes Fanon doesn’t even work out.
 
Now on the case of fanon-shipping I see it simply. As long as you’re willing to do whats necessary any ship can work. You might need to tweak the characters a bit, but if the story’s good have at it. (Which is where many fanfics fail on the shipping note) but the main issue I see with shipping in fics are they use the fic to jerk their preferred ship off. For instance I read one that was supposed to be a comedy. 2/3s of it was Octavia going on about how “wonderful” Vinyl was. No jokes intertwined in it, just Octavia going on and on about how much she loves her and blah blah blah

I don’t think anyone sane ever claims that mere physical proximity is proof of a canon ship - it just makes a great foundation for fanon.

I know, that’s the issue. There are people saying the slightest interaction means a ship is canon…  
I personally have a distaste in the ship for various reasons I won’t bring here. I do think Neon Lights-x-Vinyl makes a lot more sense, and Octavia’s simply a character I don’t really see with anyone (at least canon).
 
And my sense of humor’s a little off from the norm, I was over-reacting/over-exaggerating for the sake of comedy. If I was being serious I’d be much calmer. I’m civil and content when I actually debate something.

Dude, no one is saying Scratchtavia is canon (at least no one reasonably sane). I like reading stories and watching art of it, and I couldn’t care less whether they’re canon or not.
 
Hell, Octavia could start dating Doctor Whooves and Vinyl could start dating Neon Lights and I still wouldn’t care; people have been shipping with or without canon for as long as entertainment media has existed.
