@RedTriangle
Something like this has been proven in the show its quite possible for foals to be a different type than the parents, Mr & Mrs. Cake’s foals are a prime example.
I’m not convinced. Hello! Horns, wings, different races?
I know, interracial marriage and breeding. But could different ponies with same colors.
Do you know how many people in Real-Life who look the almost the same but no related to each other?
Actually, Maud and Marble Pie both have grey like their mother does, though certainly of different shades (Marble’s mane is like Cloudy Quartz as well, though again a slightly different shade). Granny Smith’s appearance as a young filly in Family Appreciation Day shows her with a light yellow mane, which is what Big Mac and Applejack have, though theirs are both slightly darker as well. And finally, who is presumed to be Rainbow dash’s dad shows up in only one scene and he has a rainbow mane as well.
So yeah, not everyone looks like their parents, but some of them DO share a family resemblance.
@Beau Skunky
Unless you count how Twi and Shining looks like a real mix of both parents, Shining even more so with the coat color more like Twilight Velvet and his mane and tail like Night Light.
@Beau Skunky
The Derpy & Dinky thing got started before when have clear evidence of how it worked if I right,
So I don’t think that counts, I even after Baby Cakes it was being used as a means to disprove it.
Color doesn’t aways signify relations. (In fact, Rarity, & Sweetie’s Dad is the only parental character we’ve seen with the same fur/pelt color as their children.)
But I’d like them to be her parents, just ’cause I love the idea of a mime pony.
True.
And here’s another question, say if they are Scootaloo’s parents, why we don’t see them with her on important events?

Troo, I forgot about some of that stuff or never noticed.
I thought Granny’s mane was aways white though?
Also, according to an Interplay card, that might not be Dashie’s Dad, as it refers to him as her mentor, but it’s debatable how canon those are.

Heck, that guy might even be an earth pony. Further giving her a reason for not having even the slightest idea of how to fly.
Thank you fillies and gentlecolts, we’ll be here till Saturday!
@Kerion

your current filter.She does, just it takes too long to talk via morse code.
@Prof.NightJack
Huh, I never noticed that before.
Also his eyes are blue like his mother.

Troo. And yeah, the Cake twins are colored similarly to their Daddy.
Nobody seems to take after their Mother much.

I think that’s how the famed “Derpy & Dinky” fanon got started.
Though, this pic could’ve just been pointing out how they all look alike.
@OneOverTwo
Me too, hockey dad, and mime mom. Hehe
>people still think any ponies with the same colors are related
