I have done so… give a squad of guardsmen a Lasgun and a decent amount of rolled sixes and they can do anything lol.
If we’re talking about Story 40K… all logic goes out the window. It really depends on the author as I have seen it go both ways. Heck a solo guardsmen stopped a Carnifex with a rocket launcher to save a Ultramarine once.
As for this story. So while true, I based the Changelings off of the Tyranids, but their not Exactly Tyranids. They don’t have the bioweapons or the shadow of the Warp. Even if they did, you are assuming their using warp magic vs. Arcane magic.and just to point out, the artist drew the Tyrant a lot larger than it actually is. But I gave them artistic license for a cool image and I couldn’t be happier. In reality Spitz is like Twice as as big as she is here.
Your preaching to the choir with that statement. GW has back pedaled on a lot of their awesomeness. I honestly think they’re trying to unite the Tau with Imperium. Granted it is in the face of the Tyranids, but still… the Emperor would roll in his golden throne sarcophagus if he found out.
But actually this is old school 40K that established this.The way it basically is… the over mind is like… consume the milkyway galaxy!! At this point the Non Queens are like: Rodger that and they head out to do so as they see fit. This why the leviathan and Kraken operated differently. Marneus Calgar even had trouble dealing with a particularly clever Hive Tyrant which lead to injury and thus the battle of Macragge. So your rippers and your Hormagaunts are little more than beats, but your Lictors, Tyrants, Raveners, genestealers, and higher organisms have shown levels of capable battle intelligence. That’s why when you shoot the big ones (tried and true imperial guard tactic) the rest of the army falls apart.
10-20 solo guardsmen aren’t going to bring down a Tyrant, at least not as just a mass of troops. Maybe with heavy armor, but that Tyrant is going to run roughshod over them.
The ponies wouldn’t stand a chance. They don’t have technology capable of dealing with the Nids. Unless you’ve got ponies running around with plasma weapons. If all they’ve got are hooves and horns, then they’d be torn to shreds. Also, pretty sure their magic wouldn’t be as effective with the whole “shadow of the warp” thing these bastards have going for them. If we equate magic to psycer/demon powers.
The ponies would basically be fighting naked, at best.

Sorry, bro, my previous comment was heated but my ire wasn’t directed at you. I’m just disgusted to see something I previously considered interesting rendered boring by GW’s recent… uninspired creative decisions.
Fucking ugh. I’m glad I stopped following 40k lore updates, then; this is the same stupid, hackneyed shit that ruined the Stargate Replicators; humanizing an alien force. The Tyranids were vastly more effective as a superorganism that didn’t necessarily even perceive things on the scale of individuals.

Tyranid strength comes from numbers. If 10-20 imperial guardsmen can take down a Tyrant by itself. Then 50 or so intelligent ponies could do so.
