It is not kvass but a sort of Russian beer (unbelievably shitty though). Big plastic bottles of it are very popular between Russian lumpenproletariat (so-called gopniks).

If that’s the same stuff I can buy in the euro-mart (I can’t read Russian) it’s called Kvass, and it’s amazingly tasty. Like 4-8% abv but plastic bottle.
