Apple Bloom at least somewhat existed when the show bible was made. But she must have been developed later on in deg. She was called Apple Seed and her colors had not been selected when Faust pitched it to hasbro

apple bloom does not exist within these assets that date from the show’s preproduction. I find it hard to believe she would be completely absent for any other reason other than her not existing at this early stage.

The more you know. It became associated with Islam by it’s adoption by the Ottoman Empire, but historically it’s pretty pagan (like quite a bit of abrahamic symbolism really).
 
Thinking about it, Princess Luna was probably Princess Selene at this point. Likely a reference to that.

No, because I heard Apple Bloom was originally going to search for her cutie mark by herself.

And eventually, they gave Scootaloo Saint Seiya hair, and all was well.
