I’m okay with this. Really I think the most ideal situation would have been Twilight to graduate first, than gradually over time learning more about friendship and subtly being pushed into more leadership tasks by Celestia. Eventually she would ascend into alicornhood anyway and either become Celestia’s successor (like Faust wanted) or co-ruler like what is happening in the show right now. I’ve never disliked the idea of Twilight as an alicorn princess, just the initial execution and explanation they gave us in MMC.
