I think I have found the cause of the Opera 12 issue. It is a parser error known to happen when minifying jQuery (see "https://twitter.com/bougay/status/187394083797467136":https://twitter.com/bougay/status/187394083797467136). It was supposedly fixed in Opera 12.5, and since I was unable to reproduce it with Opera 12.16 I'm wondering if you may not be using the very latest version of the 12.x releases.
