The amount of aggressive stubbornness in this comments thread is staggering. If this picture were instead a picture of a man holding a smoking gun and pointing it at someone bleeding on the ground, there would be people here saying “we don’t know for sure he shot that guy. There’s no indication that the guy on the ground is bleeding from a bullet wound or that the gun even went off. Maybe if you want to pretend he got shot then that’s fine, but don’t put “guy got shot by a gun” in the tags.”

On this site, we tag based on the image, not on the story behind it, or what might be happening in other images in an ongoing narrative. This is an image of Trixie wearing a diaper. People who want to see or hide “Diaper” will be very displeased if the tag were removed from the image.
It’s fine to leave the “transformation” tags on the image, because that’s related to the story and anyone searching for that might want to see this image - but it would certainly help if the er included the description of why this is a transformation image in the description, or at least linked to the other images in this set.
Also, anyone searching for Starlight Glimmer is going to be quite unhappy to find this image in their search results, with no Starlight Glimmer even implied in the image.

this is like another level of lacking object permanence. holy shit. that diaper IS Starlight, and starlight isn’t normally a diaper, therefore, some inanimate TF must have occurred for this image to happen, thus the tag must apply. just because you don’t see the transformation happen doesn’t mean it isn’t there. “I’m not being stupid” I don’t like to say things like this, but you kinda are. The image isn’t tagged based on another image for no reason. It is part of the other image. But of course, like a two-year-old still in diapers, if you don’t see it right in front of you it doesn’t exist, right?

This image has no tf and therefore shouldn’t be tagged tf.
Because it’s part of a comic where diaper tf happens, and this diaper being loaded was once a pone.
Skitter tends to deliberately leave that ambiguous. Other authors and artists spell it out one way or another.
I think it is up to the viewer in most cases. Some pics and fics are specific but most art is left to viewer impression.
