Anyway, not watching the show is about the dumbest response imaginable to the C&D. First of all, unless your household is one of the few covered by one of the Nielsen rating boxes, it’s not going to affect the ratings at all. Second, even if you are able to impact the ratings, doing so will harm DHX and Hasbro Studios, not Hasbro the toy conglomerate.
I don’t think any boycott’s going to make a difference, but if you’re determined to start one anyway, boycott stuff that Hasbro actually sells: toys and games.

They own the rights to the button character and the CMC which Jan used regularly. This C&D wasn’t just about button it was about ceasing to use the ip entirely.

Someone doesn’t have to be making a profit to be infringing on another’s copyright or posing a potential threat to the copyright holder’s income.
Having said that, I don’t think this C&D was necessary. Legally justifiable, but not necessary.
