-> He was just pointing her towards somepony who could explain how it feels (it implies she is the “little sister” of the 13 females; as the others SHOULD be older than her in order to have the “wisdom from experience”).

There’s no real reason a society would be nonfunctional, even in one with monogamous marriage. Just look at the period. Half the population going through extreme mood swings and causing general disgust every month hasn’t destroyed our society.
