What’ve those fillies roped us into this time?

A lot of people are saying stuff like that on the different images. But I believe it’s heavily implied they’re very much in love with the antagonist.
 
It’s very possible abuse is a regular thing they’re used to in the relationship. The ab probably wouldn’t have started out like that. They would have faded into it, making the abusee ‘get used to it’. No matter how much of a hard-ass you make yourself out to be, you’re still deeply involved with them and have probably accepted this behavior, or believe ‘they can change’.
 
You probably couldn’t easily turn around on the one you’re so in love with and are willing to take the beatings for and attack them.
 
But I’ve never been abused and this is all mostly just from what I understand of humans and what I’ve heard, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Agreed. The least they can do is not make very mild edits to the dialog.
