This is an old thread but after all that has happened, I’m glad they managed to preserve some of the original ideas without twisting what already had been established all these years. It might be a little controversial for me to say this, but I actually enjoyed Twilight becoming the new ruler of Equestria in an appearance very close to Celestia’s. For me, it just makes it come full circle. Same with the idea of two alicorns (who are family) ruling at the very end, them being Twilight and Flurry Heart in this case. Of course I wish some things had been done different, such as exploring more of the other nations and places or the Everfree forest gradually taking part of a bigger plot, but I’m not dissapointed with the canon we got. Finally I also like that they preserved the idea of some unreformed villains (although its weird for me one of them is a child so her punishment it’s in a gray moral zone for me).
