Just like James Bond wasn’t James Bond at first. He started as Agent 007 but was later given the name James Bond.

Similarly, the comedy spy Maxwell Smart from the Get Smart TV show & movie wasn’t Maxwell Smart first, he was the assigned number his superiors gave him. Even his longtime partner/future spouse Agent 99 was more known for her assigned number than the legal marital name she took when she & Maxwell got together officially.

Likewise, the originally animated cybernetically-enhanced police officer which Don Adams (who portrayed Maxwell Smart on TV) also voiced, Inspector Gadget, was not given a formal backstory as to how he officially became a cybernetically-engineered officer of the law (to be fair, the cartoon did mention that a scientist had given Inspector Gadget his tools, but this same cartoon also had discrepancies within its own lore, because in one episode, there’s a flashback depicting Inspector Gadget as an infant with his gadgets already apart of him & in another episode, when Inspector Gadget, his niece Penny, and their sentient & sapient dog Brain travel back into time to stop Dr. Claw from ruining the early successes of humanity, we see caveperson ancestral versions of Inspector Gadget, Penny & Brain interacting with their descendant counterparts and even the caveperson version of Inspector Gadget has gadgets even though they couldn’t have been invented yet in real time if this show were actually accurate, so it’s a good thing it isn’t) until the live-action Disney movie adaptation starring Matthew Broderick as the title character (although Don Adams does make an audio cameo during the ending credits when Brain pretends to mimic an answering machine that has Don Adams’ original Inspector Gadget voice, saying, “Brain is not here. Please leave a message at the sound of the woof. WOOF.”), in which officer John Brown gets mangled in an accident while trying to apprehend a criminal, leading to scientists using their cybernetic technology to try & make him a better, more effective crimefighter, but all of the gadgets in the world can’t stop the newly rechristened Inspector Gadget from being a hapless bungler who doesn’t even realize that his super-smart niece Penny & their almost human dog Brain are the ones who truly solve all of the MAD capers for him, but Penny gladly lets her uncle take the credit for catching the MAD agents & once again thwarting the world domination goals of one Samford Scolex, better known as Dr. Claw (“I’ll get you next time, Gadget!”).

Clearly, the same applies to Agent Sweetie Drops alias Bon Bon here. This is especially true when you that Bon Bon had already existed in the past 1.5 generation as part of the core fillies introduced to audiences in My Little Pony Tales (“Bon Bon’s baking cookies, girls. Hurry up on over!”).

It does. Shining Armor & Cadance are canonically MARRIED. Unless theirs is an open marriage where the husband & wife can date different ponies (replacement for people, since this IS mainline MLP & not Equestria Girls, after all, despite the anthro art style) despite having tied the knot (which is ABNORMAL for most sensible parts of the world, aside from patriarchal countries where the husband can have multiple wives & basically treat them like his harem, which does NOT work for most people due to obvious jealousy between sexual partners, not to mention cheating being seen as IMMORALLY WRONG & rightfully so, along with the fact that most women wouldn’t want to live in countries where they’re still seen as little more than property to be owned by their husband), a threesome with the conniving female shapeshifter would only serve to drive a wedge further into Shining Armor & Cadance’s happy marriage.

Actually, they have called her Princess. Multiple times, in fact. She’s not the “Princess of Friendship”, for nothing, you know.
