I read all the 38 volumes and I will say that the plot? Not worth your time. It’s essentially a self-indulgent mess of Akamatsu (the creator, by the way) just throwing everything he thinks is cool. It is constantly bogged down by focus on whiny characters (not the main character, mind you) and the character’s developments and interactions eventually boil down to jack nothing.
So yeah, Negima’s basically borderline softcore underage fanservice (biggest fodders for fanservice are girls around 14 to 15) flick with occasionally cool moments (it does have few pretty awesome action scenes, I will give it that), but nothing something anyone should read “for the plot”.
