Note it’s a very common phrase among young people, so I wouldn’t put much weight on the section about alt-right appropriation. It is definitely used by them, but it’s as appropriated as “cool” is.

They were never identical; they have different VAs even. Plus even identical twins can have different sexualities and identities. Even on a biological level, there’s more to people than their DNA.

The brony fandom drew in awkward white guys that had trouble interacting with people. Those are easy targets for white supremacy radicalization, and the people in charge of the brony gathering places were too into “love and tolerate” to do anything about them. People are eased into Nazi symbology with jokes (that aren’t actually jokes), then people going “but you know, it’s actually kind of true”, and the awkward white guys go along with it because that’s where they’re welcomed. Then before you know it, the ones who don’t want Nazis are the bad ones.
 
Consider why people here rush to defend Nazi art and not to defend LGBT+ pride art.
